Cat Meows ~ Kitty TalkCat vocal sounds and meows are your cat's unique way of interacting with their human guardians. Unique as each feline, so is their vocal expressions.Felines are as individual as stars in the heavens and there is no set rules as to their particular kitty talk. Each will establish his or her own dialogue with their human. This dialogue is as important as any other essential to your cat's happiness, and well-being. * A kitten, when separated from his mother, and littermates will soulfully meow. Whether he is hungry or afraid and lonely, his pitiful cry is a plea for comfort. Give him nourishment formulated for kittens. Caring attention and creature comforts like a small towel or blanket, and gentle assurance will comfort him. * Senior cats, considered to be 8 years and older, at times become more vocal. His cries may be more alarmed and needy. Your cat will need diet adjustments for his needs, and more vet check-ups. You will want to assure your feline, he is still "your baby" and deserves your praise and attention. * A departure from your cat's usual behavior, whether vocal expression or other changes may warrant a vet visit. A cat may meow, barely a murmur, when in discomfort, or may plead for your help. Felines, once vocal, may become silent when in pain. * No matter how aloof cats may appear, most seek out attention. It is a key element of their domestic role. These "meows" may be soft, conversing exchanges or may be quite demanding. This ploy precedes eager expectations of petting and praise. * Kitchen time is meal time. Your cat knows kitchen activity means kitty edibles. This is a good time for his feeding, a snack or something relished as a treat. When anyone gets a drink from the fridge, our cat Cloe "meows" for a drink from bottled water. Though she has an automatic waterer, she perceives the bottled water as special. She picked this up the previous summer, when I gave her extra water in a paperplate to encourage her to drink more water. * Greeting you with "your home" meows innately rolls from your feline's throat with ease. Expectations of a mutual greeting is sweet tokens of reward. Even when you are tired, kitty has been alone and now eagerly seeks recognition. * "I've been snoozing" pop-up, now "I'm bored" verbalization. The mighty cat is ready to explore, run, skid and play. Interaction with you in play is crucial, a prelude to the oncoming catnap. Life is good, your cat is mischievous, happy and vocal. "Meow!" Long live your companion.
